Devyx is a company specialized in developing custom technology solutions, focused on delivering innovative, high-quality software products to its clients. Devyx was facing significant challenges with its existing infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure. As the company grew and customer demands increased, it became clear that a more efficient and scalable solution was needed. Devyx required a way to optimize its cloud environment, improve performance, and gain greater agility to support continuously evolving business objectives. Within this ecosystem, infrastructure was not the only challenge—application adaptations and changes were also required.
A second major challenge was environment separation to better control costs. In Azure, all environments were hosted within a single account, sharing the same underlying infrastructure, which made cost allocation and governance more complex.
Cost predictability was also a key factor in moving forward with the project. AWS offered a simpler and more transparent cost model, enabling linear and more effective tracking of consumption across the platform.
The engagement began with the execution of Elevata Compass, a comprehensive assessment designed to identify gaps across the six dimensions of the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework: business, process, people, platform, operations, and security. This assessment allowed Elevata to define the capabilities required for migration and to develop a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model for the project.
Based on the assessment results, the migration phase was initiated with the goal of building a solid operational foundation and addressing the identified capability gaps. During this stage, Elevata accelerated Devyx’s migration decision-making by providing clear guidance on migration paths and execution strategy, increasing the likelihood of a successful transition.
Elevata completed Devyx’s migration from Azure to AWS, implementing services such as Amazon EKS, EC2, and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL. This resulted in an optimized cloud environment with improved performance and increased agility to support Devyx’s business demands. In parallel with the infrastructure work, application changes and adaptations were carried out. Elevata provided architectural ideas and technical guidance to Devyx’s development team, with the adoption of the AWS SDK playing a critical role in enabling the application to interact natively with AWS services. This ensured a robust application architecture with the integrations required to support daily operational workflows.
From an environment strategy perspective, the migration to AWS introduced a multi-account model, enabling effective segregation between Dev, Pre-Prod, and Prod environments. This approach was essential to establishing a safer development lifecycle, ensuring that every application change could be validated in a fully isolated and secure environment before reaching production.
Following the implementation, Devyx now operates on a more scalable and optimized cloud environment, with improved performance and significantly greater agility. This foundation supports the company’s growth trajectory and future demand, enabling Devyx to serve its customers more effectively and achieve its business objectives with higher efficiency.
Security posture improved substantially, with access controls aligned to user roles — whether developer or executive — eliminating unrestricted access and enforcing least-privilege principles. Cost management also evolved, with improved cost granularity and predictability. After the migration, Devyx achieved approximately 18% reduction in infrastructure costs compared to the previous provider, alongside clearer visibility into consumption across environments.
